UngDialog invites to ‘dialog-kafé’ with Canada’s Ambassador to Norway, Artur Wilczynski, who will speak about diversity. Some view increased diversity as a threat or an issue to be managed – they say that the concept of multiculturalism is a failure. Others see diversity as an asset – they see diversity as maximizing human potential in all of its forms.
Canada’s Ambassador to Norway, Artur Wilczynski, will speak about diversity through his own personal experience arriving in Canada as a refugee in the 1960s. He will further speak about Canada’s approach to diversity, it’s new government and the importance of accommodation, integration and participation to active and engaged citizenship.
In dialog we will address questions on the value of and challenge with diversity: Can we be open for diversity while keeping our own values and beliefs? Can I respect someone I don’t agree with? How can I relate to someone that does not respect my diversity? What are the consequences of embracing diversity?
This is UngDialog’s first english speaking event!
